Saturday night and the air was infused with the promise of soul-stirring blues at Northland Sports Pub and Grill, courtesy of the Jay Stulo Band. Unfamiliar with their music, I had to do a quick search that revealed that Jay Stulo Band specializes in blues—a rarity in our local music scene. As a blues fan, the prospect of a night filled with this genre was irresistible, prompting me to make my way to one of my favorite haunts for live music.

Walking into Northland, I was greeted with a bit of surprise—the venue seemed a bit slow for a Saturday night. However, as I cracked the doors open, the blues melodies embraced me, building anticipation for what lay ahead. Up to the bar, I went, met with a warm smile and immediate service, setting the tone for an evening of musical indulgence.

Armed with an ice-cold beer, I settled in, allowing the blues to wash over me. The Jay Stulo Band was playing with a level of polish that only comes from a tight-knit musical camaraderie. Jay's guitar work was great —each note breathed life into the blues, creating an atmosphere that resonated with heart and soul.
