I’m always on the lookout for new spots to hear live music, and Thursday night at McFleshman’s Brewing Co. had my attention. With bands like Douser and Zebra Mussel on the lineup, I knew I had to check it out.
If you’ve never been to McFleshman’s, let me tell you, it’s a place worth visiting. The bar itself is a feast for the eyes—gorgeous woodwork, captivating artwork on the walls, and a friendly vibe that makes it feel like it could be a new hangout spot. Oh, and they brew their own beer, with enough varieties to satisfy any palate. Whether you’re into craft beer, wine, or prefer a non-alcoholic option, they’ve got you covered.
I arrived just as Douser was wrapping up their set. Sadly, I didn’t even get a chance to snap a pic before they finished, but no worries—Zebra Mussel was up next, and I was ready for some live tunes. After grabbing one of McFleshman’s signature brews, I settled in, anticipating the next band.
But here’s where things took a turn. Zebra Mussel was all set to rock the night when—bam!—everything went dead. Power outage! Just like that, the music stopped before it even started. Super disappointing, right? But hey, that’s live music for you. Sometimes the unexpected happens, and you just have to roll with it.
Even though the night didn’t go as planned, McFleshman’s itself left quite the impression. The spacious outdoor patio, surrounded by hops and greenery, is perfect for a relaxed night out. And the beer? Whether you're into trying something new or sticking to your favorites, the options are endless.
Will I be back? Absolutely. The venue alone is worth a return trip, and I’m sure the next show will go off without a hitch. McFleshman’s is definitely on my list of go-to spots for live music and a chill atmosphere. Plus, who can say no to trying more custom beer.
