Trombone Shorty & Government Mule came to put on the show for the August 18th Oshkosh Waterfest. I headed over and hoped for the best with the weather. There was rain in Menasha as I left. But the closer I got to Oshkosh, the nicer the weather got. I walked into the amphitheater and Trombone Shorty was already up on stage and tearing it up. It was really nice to have something different for music. This band came up from New Orleans and brought some sassy jazz with him for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to check out the band's info on the Trombone Shorty Website or listen to the music here. Next up on stage was Gov't Mule. Labeled as a Southern Rock Jam band. With hits like Thorazine Shuffle, Soulshine, and Broke Down on the Brazos listen now. The crowd was a fun-loving, easy-going group of people. When Gov't Mule came on stage the crowd went crazy. I will be honest I have not heard of this band before. But I was glad I came out and saw them. There were a few songs I recognized that I didn't know they sang. It was a fun night with some good weather. Always love some live music and summertime. Make sure to check out the Oshkosh Waterfest schedule and get to a show soon!
