My friend Camille invited me to check out The Plastic Knifes at Water City Pub in Oshkosh, where the bar was teaming up with the Oshkosh Firefighters Charitable Trust to raise money for the day-by-day warming shelter. To top it off, celebrity firefighter bartenders Zach, Adam, Jacob, Tanner, Ken, and Denise were serving up cold beverages! This joint used to be Screwballs, but the new owners have spruced it up and are adding even more live music to the mix. They've got a stage set up in the back that's perfect for bands, and they're working on some tweaks to make the sound even better. The bar itself is clean and spacious, with a nice crowd to boot. As for The Plastic Knifes, they're a talented 3-piece band with all members taking turns on vocals. They played a great mix of tunes, making for a really fun night all around. Here's hoping the charity made some good cash!
