Sunday was a fun day out on the pontoon with my son and my buddy. The weather was hot, and my little man wanted to do his favorite thing in the world right now: fishing! So, I gave my buddy a call and sent him an invitation to join us on the water with his fishing pole. He arrived in just 30 minutes, ready to go.
We made sure to pack the cooler with plenty of water, some Gatorade, and a few adult soda pops. Then, we headed down to the Manitowac St boat launch in Menasha. After launching the pontoon, we set off for our day of adventure.
First, my little man decided he wanted to go swimming. So, we set a course for Waverly Beach. The wind was quite strong, but as we made our way across the lake, it didn't feel too bad. Upon reaching Waverly, though, the wind picked up even more. We tied up the pontoon, and my son enjoyed some swimming despite the gusts.
Eventually, the wind became a bit wild, and we decided it was time to switch gears and do some fishing. We opted to head up the river in Neenah, hoping to find a good spot. We went all the way up to the city docks, turned around, and stopped across from the Thedacare Hospital. We threw anchor and started casting our lures. It was pretty cool because the Thedastar helicopter came in right next to us. We stayed there for about an hour before moving a bit farther up the river.
We took a quick stop by the Neenah lighthouse and tried our luck with some lures, but unfortunately, we didn't have much success. So, we decided to head back to Menasha and sneak into the channels on Doty Island. Although fishing wasn't fruitful, we still had a fantastic day bonding and spending quality time together. It was another wonderful Sunday Funday.Â
Most of these photos were shot by my little man. Here are a bunch of pictures for you to check out as well as a video slideshow of all the photos or you can see all the pictures on the Wiparty Boating Photo Gallery.Â
