The park was crowded with people everywhere as we headed into Memorial Park in Appleton to watch the fireworks. I decided to take my little man and his friend for a fun evening of fishing music and fireworks at the park We had heard earlier you can fish in the Memorial Park Pond. So my little mand brought along a fishing pole. Finding a parking spot was interesting, but we managed to park about two blocks away from the park's entrance on the Northside.
We walked into the park, and the boys were eager to find the fishing pond. It turned out to be a great spot because the fireworks were set off right over the pond. My little man took out his fishing pole and started fishing from the pier. However, there were about 15 kids around him who also wanted to fish but didn't have poles or worms.Â
He caught a few small bluegills and even a turtle. The kids got excited about the turtle, and I had to help release the hook while the kids tried to get the turtle to show its head. It was a bit chaotic, and I decided that next time, we wouldn't bring the fishing pole along. We then moved to a quieter area behind the amphitheater, where the boys could fish and enjoy the music from the band "Boogie and the Yo-Yos."
We had a great time fishing, listening to the music, and finally, the moment we had been waiting for arrived—the fireworks! They were shot right above us, lighting up the sky. It was a fantastic display that left us in awe.
As the fireworks ended, we gathered our things, grateful for the beautiful night we had. It was a fun evening of fishing, music, and breathtaking fireworks.Â
I have pictures for you to check out as well as a video slideshow of all the photos or you can see all the pictures on the Wiparty Boating Photo Gallery.Â
