Thursday night, I had my sights set on Waterfest, but Mother Nature had different plans. With rain pouring down, I decided to switch gears and check out the Mile of Music in Downtown Appleton. I headed out with my friend, and we parked at the Hilton, knowing it had three rooms featuring live bands. This event is a wild ride with so many talented artists—it’s like a musical marathon, and you can't help but keep running from one amazing performance to the next.
Our first stop was the main ballroom, where Sinking Lessons was rocking the crowd. The energy was incredible, but with so many bands to see, we quickly moved on to the downstairs room. There, Joy Clark captured our hearts with her incredible voice and heartfelt storytelling. Her music was so moving that I saw people in the audience brought to tears. She pours her heart and soul into every song, creating a powerful connection with her listeners.
Next, we ventured into another basement room featuring a four-musician set, each artist taking turns to perform. It was an intimate and impressive showcase of talent. We caught Brothers Brother and a couple of others whose names I missed but whose music was unforgettable.
As we made our way back up, we stumbled upon a band rocking out in the pool room. They had been rained out and decided to set up an impromptu show—talk about making the best of a situation! The Lavender Project and CharlieBoy bands were fantastic, and we stayed to enjoy their spontaneous performance.
Returning to the main ballroom, we grabbed a drink and caught Tall Tall Trees, who kept the energy high. After running into a few more friends, we decided to head down to Gibson Music Hall now that the rain had let up. There, we found Stephie James on stage, mesmerizing the crowd with her stunning voice and captivating presence. Easy Honey wrapped up our night with a tight, energetic set that left everyone wanting more.
This rainy night turned into an unforgettable musical adventure filled with incredible fun, great friends, and amazing talent. Make sure to check out the photos and videos to get a taste of the experience!
