Saturday night brought with it the promise of good music and even better company, and I found myself headed to Mikeee's Paynes Point Bar in Neenah. The reason? My buddy Pat Pedersen was in action with his band, Back N Kickin', and there was no way I was going to miss this opportunity to soak in some live tunes.
As I arrived at the venue, I couldn't help but smile. Mike's Paynes Point had set up the stage outside, on a big trailer, right in front of the bar.
The crowd had gathered in front of the bar, spilling over onto the patio, all eagerly awaiting the musical magic. What made this night special was that it was early, and from the get-go, it had a family-friendly vibe. Kids were dancing and grooving to the music, their smiles lighting up the night.
Back N Kickin' wasted no time in kicking things off. From the very first note, it was evident that these guys were here to tear it up, and tear it up they did. The blend of rock and energy that poured from the stage was contagious, and it wasn't long before everyone was caught up in the music's grip.
What made the night even better was the presence of friends. Music has a way of bringing people together, and it was heartwarming to catch up with old friends and make new ones as we all shared in the joy of live music.
In the end, it was a perfect Saturday night - filled with great tunes, laughter, and a sense of community. Pat Pedersen and Back N Kickin' delivered an fun performance, and Mike's Paynes Point provided the ideal setting for a memorable evening.
