When my buddy called me up and said, "Hey, the boat is ready to go," I couldn't resist. My kiddos were gone for the day, so why not seize the opportunity to enjoy some quality time out on the lake? It sounded like the perfect plan.
We made our way down to the 24th Ave boat launch, just south of Pioneer. The lake was as calm, making for a smooth ride out to Streich's. We tied up the boat, and to our surprise, it was a pretty quiet day on the water. But that didn't dampen our spirits. Oh no, we were ready to make the most of it!
As luck would have it, some of my family happened to stop by, joining us for the adventure. It turned into a great day of basking in the glorious sunshine and enjoying each other's company. There's something magical about being out on the water, soaking up the rays and creating memories with great people.
Eventually, the time came for us to bid farewell to the lake, but not before making a pit stop at the South Side Ice Yacht Club. Let me tell you, this place is an absolute gem! I couldn't wait to show it off to my friends. The club never fails to deliver a hearty dose of laughter, making it the perfect spot to hang out and take in the picturesque view of the lake. Trust me, if you ever get the chance, make sure to add this stop to your itinerary. It's a guaranteed good time.
And just like that, another fantastic day on the water came to an end. We packed up, filled with memories, and headed back home, grateful for the opportunity to escape to the lake. So, the next time your buddy calls you up with an invitation for a boat ride, say yes without hesitation. Who knows? You might just stumble upon hidden gems like the South Side Ice Yacht Club and create hilarious memories that will last a lifetime.
