Friday night rolled around, and as I was searching for something fun to do, I stumbled across an intriguing event—Cousin Lou and the Redeux were playing in a barn bar over in Weyauwega. A barn bar? THE BAR AT WILLOW POND How could I resist checking this out? So, I mentioned it to a friend, and she was all in. We hopped in the car and took the easy 30-minute drive to see what this unique venue was all about.
The Barn Bar Experience
As we pulled up, we passed a charming old yellow farmhouse, and there it was—the barn. This place was way cooler than I imagined. The open area surrounding the barn was beautifully landscaped, with a pond featuring fountains spraying water into the air. We even spotted an old corn bin that had been transformed into a cozy lounge area, complete with a small pond. It turns out this place is also a bed and breakfast, and the upper section of the barn can be rented out for parties and weddings. Talk about a hidden gem!
Stepping Inside the Bar
We made our way to the bar entrance and walked into a super cute and inviting space. The bar had a warm, rustic charm, and we could hear the music playing as we headed further inside. As we walked deeper into the bar, we found the band—Cousin Lou and the Redeux—jamming away in the barn. The acoustics were surprisingly fantastic, making the whole experience even better.
Cousin Lou and the Redeux: A Night of Music and Laughter
These guys were great. It was clear that Cousin Lou and the Redeux had been honing their skills for years. They played with a mix of energy and ease, like they were having as much fun as the crowd. Between songs, they threw in some comedy, keeping everyone entertained and laughing. It was one of those nights where the music, the atmosphere, and the company all came together perfectly.
A Unique Venue Worth a Return Trip
I have to say, this barn bar in Weyauwega was a real find. The setting, the band, and the whole vibe made for an unforgettable night. I’m already planning to head back for a more in-depth story about the bed and breakfast and all the cool things they offer. Who knows, maybe a stay overnight is in the cards. As always, I’ve got photos and videos from the night so you can get a little taste of the band and this amazing venue.
