Saturday Evening Miami Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez issued a statement shutting down boat ramps and marinas.
All boat ramps at Miami-Dade County parks will be shut down immediately until further notice. Any Commercial fisherman providing for restaurants and markets will be allowed to use the ramps and marinas, but pleasure boaters will not.
Promising that the Miami-Dade Police Department would be patrolling the waters and ramping up enforcement of the no rafting up order to keep large group parties from taking place.
Gimenez said he was disappointed to see photos and videos on social media of boats close together and large groups of people congregating.
