A Fun Day Fishing with my awesome Little Buddy
Introduction:
Spending a day on the water with my little buddy was a blast! After getting my pontoon boat back with a different motor, we couldn't wait to take it out for a spin and do some fishing.
Off and running:
With the pontoon boat running smoothly, we headed to Waverly so I could check the water out and post-conditions on the Wiparty boaters chat. The motor was running smooth and in perfect order, so we decided to head back up the river, searching for the best fishing spot. We stopped and did some casting in a few weed beds. But no luck.
A perfect catch:
Thanks to an app, my little buddy discovered an excellent spot across from where we launched. We dropped anchor and cast our lines. It didn't take long for my little angler to feel a tug on the line. He proudly caught seven Sheephead and even reeled in his first-ever Walleye, even though it was small. The thrill on his face made the day unforgettable.
Capturing memories:
I brought along a camera, allowing my little buddy to explore his interest in photography. He took some great shots of the birds sitting on the island and the light tower, while I captured pictures of our boat and passing boats. It was fantastic to see his passion for both fishing and photography grow . As we enjoyed the river's tranquility, we saw some familiar faces among the passing boats. It is always fun to see friends out on the water and capture a few quick pictures for the memory banks.
Wave Surfing:
It was hot enough we decided to run back out to Waverly Beach to do some magnet fishing and get some swimming in since it was hot. We broke out onto the lake and it was a straight North wind bringing the waves up to about 2 footers. But with the new power on the pontoon we took off and made it over without any issue. Threw anchor and my buddy hit the waves and the water was actually not that green.Â
Conclusion:
Our day on the water with my little buddy was a huge success. Testing out the repaired pontoon boat, exploring Waverly and the River, and catching fish together made it an unforgettable experience. Watching my little buddy's excitement as he reeled in his first Walleye and took beautiful photographs was priceless. It was another enjoyable day on the water, making memories for years to come.
