Saturday nights are for live music adventures, and boy, did I hit the jackpot! After catching Open Tab rocking out at Northland, I found myself craving something a little... different. Enter Sharp Left Turn, a 3-piece instrumental band playing at the Vaudette Theater in Kaukauna.
What sets these guys apart? Imagine a heavy, fuzzed-out low saxophone playing riffs that scream doom, groove with jazz, and jam with funk. Sound wild? It was! If Frankenstein built a saxophone and gave it life, you'd get the sound these guys produce—pure, dramatic, and downright electrifying.
The band's energy was incredible, and their original tunes were like nothing I’ve heard before. But I have to admit, I started dreaming about what it would sound like if they tackled something like Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" or Metallica's "Enter Sandman". (Seriously, wouldn’t that be epic?)
The Vaudette was the perfect spot for this kind of raw, creative performance, and I was lucky enough to snag some photos and videos for you to see. If you love live music, you’ve got to check these guys out.
So here’s the real question: What songs would YOU love to hear Sharp Left Turn put their spin on? Let me know in the comments, and don’t miss the chance to experience this Franken-Sax-fueled fun for yourself.
