Saturday night, and what a night it was at The Lake Winnebago Four Horsemen Poker Run party at Dock Side Tavern in Oshkosh. The event was electric, with the band Ask Your Mother coming out swinging and never stopping. Their mix of tunes kept the crowd fired up from start to finish.
The band set up on the patio, providing a perfect view of the beautiful river, power boats, and even some new sports cars. The new bar on the patio was packed with people eager to see the band and admire the boats. This event always attracts a colorful mix of characters from all over, including incredible crews from Minnesota, Illinois, and beyond. It's a testament to the event’s draw that so many make the journey each year.
From my understanding, only a few boats broke down, which is fantastic considering the scale of the event. It’s always a relief when everyone has a safe and fun run. The only complaint I heard was about the bartenders struggling to keep up with the drink orders – a minor hiccup in an otherwise perfect evening.
Sadly, I wasn’t hired to shoot photos on the boats this year, but it’s all good. Pete Boden from Shoot 2 Thrill was up in the helicopter capturing some fantastic shots. I might do a fly-by photo session on the lake later this year if there's enough interest.
This year marked the final Four Horsemen Poker Run. It’s bittersweet to see it go, but everything must come to an end. I’ve been involved with this run since day one, and I remember discussing its beginnings with Jason. I’m proud to have been part of this amazing event and to have met so many incredible people along the way. The friendships and memories will last a lifetime.
It was a phenomenal night, and I hope we’ll see more events like this on our waterways in the future. Check out the photos and videos to get a feel for how this amazing night of fun turned out. Here’s to more unforgettable nights and new adventures.
