Hey there fellow partygoers! Let me take you on a journey to a Saturday that turned out to be a total gem, despite the not-so-great weather for boating. You see, when Mother Nature throws a curveball, it's all about finding another way to have a blast. And that's exactly what I did by heading to Greenville's Summer Send Off β a community event that promised a whole lot of fun for everyone in the mix.
So picture this β a small-town gathering with something for everyone. A parade, a bike giveaway that made kids' eyes sparkle, mouthwatering food and drinks, and of course, the heart and soul of any good event β great music. It cost a mere $10 to enter and trust me, it was worth every cent.
As I strolled into Greenville Lions Park, I was greeted by a lively scene. People of all ages filled the space, kids running around with newly won bikes, their smiles as bright as the sun peeking through the clouds. The bike giveaway winners were being announced, and I couldn't help but soak in the excitement as these young winners bounded up to the stage, pure joy radiating from their faces.
With the bike extravaganza wrapped up, it was time for some tunes. Standing Ovation set the stage alive, their melodies weaving through the air and getting everyone moving. Which was good because as the sun set the temperature started to drop. An hour of musical delight later, it was time for the Allen Brothers on the main stage. Now, I hadn't caught these guys in action before, but let me tell you, their three-piece band rocked the house. With a playlist spanning from the '70s to today's hits, they had the crowd ramped up and the crowd kept getting bigger.
And just when you thought the musical magic was winding down, Standing Ovation cranked up the energy once again on the barn stage. But that was just a teaser for what was to come β the main stage, prepped and ready for Boogie and the Yo Yoz. When Boogie strutted onto the stage, the crowd buzzed with anticipation, and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint.
Boogie brought the house down with their heart-and-soul performance. The energy was electric, and you could feel it in every note they played. Midway through their set, they surprised a young girl with a check from the Music Grant program. Talk about spreading the love of music! They had her do a song with Boogie and she wowed the crowd, and we've got a video for you to witness her talent.
As the night wound down, I couldn't help but reflect on the incredible time I'd had. The cold weather might have kept us off the boat, but it sure didn't dampen our spirits. Surrounded by amazing friends, incredible music, and a vibrant community, this Summer Send Off was an absolute blast. Check out the photos and video to catch a glimpse of the action β trust me, you won't want to miss it.
Until next time, my fellow music lovers and adventure seekers! πΆπ΄ββοΈπ
