Sunday Funday, and the weather was hot—just perfect for a day on the water. With the kids off on their own adventures, I decided it was time to grab a friend, hop on the pontoon, and explore the Fox Valley’s beautiful waterways. There’s nothing quite like a summer day cruising from Menasha to Oshkosh, soaking in the sun and the stunning sights.
We launched the pontoon in Menasha, and the journey began. As we cruised up to the Neenah River, the views were nothing short of spectacular. From charming waterfront homes to historic lighthouses, every turn offered something new to admire. The downtown marina was buzzing with activity, and the dam added a touch of drama to the picturesque setting. It’s always fun to introduce someone new to the beauty of our local lakes, and this day was no exception.
After enjoying the sights in Neenah, we ventured out to the lake, heading towards Neenah Point. The shoreline was lined with even more stunning homes, each one more impressive than the last. With the sun shining and the water calm, it was one of those days that felt almost too good to be true.
Our adventure didn’t end there. We decided to keep the tour going all the way to Streich’s Beach in Oshkosh—a famous spot among local boaters. We pulled in, found a spot, and took a moment to relax. While we didn’t stay long, it was a great place to enjoy some food, drinks, and the laid-back beach vibes.
Even though I left my regular camera at home, my phone was more than up to the task of capturing the day’s highlights. From the scenic views to the fun on the pontoon, every moment was worth remembering.
After leaving Streich’s Beach, we headed back out to the middle of the lake and took a refreshing swim. Floating in the cool water with the sun overhead was the perfect way to recharge before heading to our next stop—Waverly Beach. There, we anchored once more to enjoy live music drifting across the water. With the sun starting to set and the band playing, it was the ideal ending to a perfect day.
Sunday Funday on the lake is a reminder of why summer in Wisconsin is so special. Whether you’re exploring new places, swimming in the middle of the lake, or just enjoying time with friends, days like this make you appreciate the beauty all around us. As always, I’ve got some photos and videos from our day on the water for you to check out. There’s no better way to share the joy of a day spent in the sun.
